I have an airsoft gun with a ABS gear box. Will it heart it at all to put a stronger spring in it?

I have an WELL airsoft gun. I was wondering ir the ABS gearbox in it would be able to stand an stronger spring. When I mean a stronger spring im not talking about going from 200 FPS to 300 FPS I am just talking up going from 200 FPS to 230 or 250 FPS. With suck a small upgrade in FPS will it reilly effect the airsoft gun mechanisms vary much or not? If so can I put some thing in there to protect it or reinforce it to stand a stronger spring?
